(Aug 4, 2014)… The Value Systems Co., Ltd. (a Member of ECS Holdings Ltd., Singapore) has expanded its business into CLM countries, which are Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, hoping that this will turn the company into the leader in enterprise system business with the most holistic and completed solutions. It has gone ahead with the first subsidiary in Myanmar.

Narong Intanate, Executive Chairman of The Value Systems said, “We see an opportunity in Myanmar since it has been improved in many aspects including politics and administrations. It now has a new government and the opposition led by Aung San Suu Kyi who also supports and pushes forward the democracy in the country. Meanwhile, Superpowers like U.S. and E.U. have softened their economic and trade policies towards Myanmar in the past few years paving ways for Myanmar into the world economic stage.

The strongest point of Myanmar is that it has a large number of populations more than 60 million with low cost of well-educated labor having undergone British education system. Moreover, it has abundant natural resources which have not been concretely developed whether it is in terms of fishery, forestry, mining, as well as oil and natural gas drilling. The Myanmar government also has policies to push forward more industrials and infrastructure development to make the country become a developing country like Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia.

Moreover, there have been changes in investment law, tariff, transportation, and finance to facilitate foreign investors. In the coming year of 2015, we are moving towards ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and having Myanmar as the Chair of ASEAN now; the country highly attracts us to expand our business there.

Technology is highly needed in all aspects in order to develop the country and IT system is one of the main elements in today’s economic development. Whether it is in terms of finance and telecommunication, technology is the main mechanism. This compliments with our products and many vendors, such as VMware, HP Enterprise Group, Symantec, Microsoft, Cisco, F5, NetApp, EMC, Fujitsu, Citrix, and Buffalo are so happy to join in the launch of our business in the Myanmar markets that they appointed us as their distributor.

Nowadays, The Value Systems’ business in Thailand is very stable. For IT, Thailand is already considered a matured market and growth is decreasing by the year. The unstable political situation also causes a slowdown in our business. This is one of the reasons why we have to explore and diversify into new territory such as CLM that will bring us better business opportunities and growths; therefore, established the ECS Value Myanmar Services Co., Ltd. on April 22nd, 2014 to focus on IT enterprise business in Myanmar.

We may not be the first Thai IT company to set up a subsidiary in Myanmar, but we are the first IT Company in Myanmar who focusing on enterprise business market with the most holistic and completed solutions. The reasons we only do enterprise business is because the markets for PCs and Notebooks are waning and Myanmar already has its own local agent in this business, so there would not be so much value added to the company if we share the PCs and Notebooks markets. However, the enterprise business is new with many ways opening up for it.

Once the company was set up, the first thing we did was to develop local dealers so that they would be certified by the vendors and become specialized in enterprise business in terms of network system, data center, and security system so that they can present the solutions useful for different companies. This has been our first priority because local dealers in the past did not have enough opportunities to attend a seminar or training on solutions. The Value Systems is the first company to hold a seminar together with vendors to give knowledge to local dealers since the company was not even set up yet. Kasikorn Bank also provides us a place to hold a seminar in Myanmar which is held continuously 3-5 times a month. Now there are local dealers certified by large vendors such as VMware and Cisco ready to deliver solutions services to organization customers in Myanmar.

Our company first established the business in Myanmar on the 2nd quarter of 2014 and we have received many inquiries from both local dealers and oversea dealers who are expanding into Myanmar. It is also expected to have a great leap forward in 2015 from Myanmar market”, said Narong.

Nowadays, ECS Value Myanmar Services Co., Ltd. has one Thai Country Manager, who is experienced in IT professional services, plus six locals staff; holding two positions in Business Development, two in Pre-sale, and two in post-sale.

ECS Value Myanmar Services Co., Ltd. is located in Room No. 502, 5th Floor, Building C, Pearl Condo, Sayarsan Road, Bahan Township, Yangon, Myanmar.
