In Line with Thai Government’s “Digital Economy” and AEC, TCCT and IBM also revealed 2015 data center trend and selection criteria for enterprises in Thailand and ASEAN
December 22, 2014, Bangkok, Thailand – doing business concerns with interconnection and requires driving tool which must be fast, cost saving, and secured. IT infrastructure can be tool to address those needs. With great awareness that in boundless world of capitalism where every country has only physical territory, TCCT collaborated with IBM Thailand to hold “The Next-generation data center – Increase efficiency, flexibility and business value” small focus group seminar. This knowledgeable and experience-sharing seminar was a subsequent of industry and market outlook which TCCT worked together with IBM to conduct a data center selection criteria research to pinpoint these following 3 factors:
- Size – based on surging market need for data center (soft infrastructure), connectivity or “Digital Highway” (hard infrastructure), government’s “Digital Economy Framework Policy”, and the coming of AEC, it is recommended that the size of data center should be “Optimal” for business size yet “Scalable” due to increased demand and must be able to respond to customers’ need at a speed of time.
- Site – This initiative brings together IBM’s experience as a global player in the creation and management of data centers for organizations worldwide and TCCT’s familiarity in local sites and its reputation as one of the best regional players in Asia. It is best to mitigate risk with “Cross-Border Data Centers” in different countries (primary, secondary, or multiple sites) for redundancy purpose. This will help create confidence and strengths for enterprises expanding businesses in ASEAN stage.
- Services – every minute counts and downtime is what we least expect. Data and content concern with confidentiality and privacy but nowadays they flow and travel regardless of boundary on digital world. Therefore data center and connectivity along with their on-top services as Cloud, SAP Hosting, and Internet should be served by professional and experienced data center and infrastructure provider to be ensured of speed, stability, reliability, and security.
Apart from the aforementioned, the seminar which the audience were Thailand’s leading enterprises from various industries in public and private sectors also addresses the topic of country’s IT infrastructure: “Internet” and how the existence of “Internet Exchange” point play an important role for Thailand and AEC.
