Former CA Technologies executive looks to tap new opportunities in emerging markets, expand partner ecosystem

Polycom, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLCM) today announced the appointment of Chua I-Pin as Managing Director, South East Asia (SEA), overseeing business operations across ASEAN territories. Chua I-Pin, Vice President, Asia South, CA Technologies

With extensive experience both in the technology industry and across several markets in the region, Chua is a highly accomplished sales and management leader. In this role, he will drive profitable growth through leading customer success, building a world class go-to-market, and making Polycom’s vision of the Workplace of the Future a reality in SEA.

“I am delighted that I-Pin has joined Polycom’s strong Asia Pacific leadership team, to further boost our operations in the region, and provide a greater focus on responding to and addressing the business needs of our customers in South East Asia,” said Geoff Thomas, President, Polycom Asia Pacific. “The SEA region is a strategically important market for us as we forecast new opportunities, particularly in emerging markets such as Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. Large populations, the pervasiveness of mobility, and big telcos provide us with tremendous potential for growth and continuous innovation.”

During his tenure, he successfully grew the business by 23% year on year. Previously, he held several leadership positions for high profile technology companies including Oracle and Sun Microsystems.

“Better productivity and team collaboration across borders continues to be a priority across several industries. There are great opportunities across multiple verticals in SEA for Polycom and our partners, as organisations look to implement smarter, and more efficient ways of working,” said Chua. “I am proud to join Polycom whose innovative technologies continue to lead the market in the collaboration space, helping to achieve customers’ business objectives and bring the Workplace of the Future to life.”

Chua holds a BSc (Honours) in Computer Science and a BA (Honours) in Business Economics from Brown University, United States. Based in Singapore, he speaks fluent Mandarin and has a basic knowledge of Japanese and Thai.
