26 November 2014 – Assumption University Suvarnabhumi Campus: Fujitsu Systems Business (Thailand) Ltd. has been entrusted to set up IP-Telephony which called Unified Communications Manager Business Edition. It is the telephone and video communication system which can be used as both an office landline and video call and also can be able to operate on mobile phone and tablet. This setting up also including the Sending Messages, Instant Messaging, Voicemail and Auto Attendant for Assumption University in the project of providing technology to support education in this modern age and to develop university efficiency, conforming to a Digital University policy.

Rev.Bro.Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President of Assumption University , said that the university currently has increasing of the number of students and they all have portable devices such as Notebooks, Smart phones and tablets which connects to university Wi-Fi. By using many applications, it causes internet delay and instability. Thus, the university has a policy to repair the Analog switching systems to Digital IT on internet and update by merging the information and voice communication system. The IT set up is to respond for BYOD system which is the new technology service. Teachers and students can use their own device in the university by using the VIDEO that allow both sound and vision and can share information through CLOUD, the system that operating in Cloud Service.

Rev.Bro.Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President of Assumption University also said that by the university policy to provide IT to support ABAC educations, it develops both students and teachers efficiency and also other staff to work and study from everywhere at anytime. Thus, ABAC is aiming to be the Digital University by searching for other innovation to support this objective. Fujitsu, the consultant agency in Network system, had presented the communication system that support in working and education and compatible with the Digital University.

Ms. Wallapa Piemnoppakao, Vice President, Fujitsu Systems Business (Thailand) Ltd. said that nowadays education situation is changing to age of digital, it should be prepared to support more users and working online. Hence, Fujitsu presented the IP-Telephony which called Unified Communications Manager Business Edition. The advantage of Unified Communication is to support in education in Assumption University. It increases effectiveness as it allows operating in mobile phone, tablet and notebook. Sound and Vision communication improve the effectiveness in supporting students through Remote Expert system, for example it can create telephone number service system, if student wants to have information they can call and then the system will transfer the line to university staff to help. This system also service students or external user to receiving complaint or giving information about the university.
