VNL Launches ResQMobil
NEW DELHI, October 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/InfoQuest
“The world launch of ResQMobil, VNL’s portable emergency mobile communication, search and rescue system took place at the India Mobile Congress 2017“
As public communication networks are the first casualty in most disasters, first-responders and public safety agencies need a dedicated communication system to be set up at disaster sites within hours, to minimize impact. VNL’s ResQMobil is an integrated solution that aids emergency response at affected sites by providing Voice, Video & Data connectivity with built-in VSAT connectivity in less than an hour.
ResQMobil not only provides an instant communication network but can also help locate victims through mobile signals, and interface with different radio networks to provide actionable information to authorities. It is designed to work during all types of disasters and can be airdropped to sites immediately.
ResQMobil packs the following into a trailer:
- GSM Network-in-a-box with integrated BTS, BSC, MSC, SMSC etc. for establishing an independent communication network, instantly.
- Emergency Victim Locator to help locate people, who may be trapped, buried or missing, by locating mobile phones.
- Universal Gateway for patching communication over various platforms, e.g., HF, VHF, UHF to mobile or PSTN networks.
- Temporary Cellular Network for connectivity to the outside world with available backhaul, enabled through arrangements with operators. In this context, VNL has partnered with BSNL, the state-owned operator in India, to provide disaster relief services in India, SAARC and other countries.
ResQMobil is targeted at global disaster management agencies such as India’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) and others.
Speaking at the launch, VNL’s Founder Chairman Mr. Rajiv Mehrotra said, “Considering the recent spate of natural disasters that have hit the world, we are committed to assisting first responders and public safety agencies in restoring connectivity and minimizing the impact of disasters with our ResQMobil solution. We’re proud to be associated with BSNL, our partner.”
